Path Through the Woods |
I have always drawn from an early age but due to family commitments I didn't devote any 'real' time to art until later life.
In 1996 I took an A level course in Art and Design, passing with an A grade. The following year I did a foundation course at De Montfort University and received three distinctions. Unfortunately, for medical reasons, I could not continue on to do the degree level at that time, and although I always intended to go back, as yet, I haven't done so, but would still like to‑at some point.
Over the last few years I have taken several pastel painting courses, including Kibworth Beacham, Lutterworth, & Countesthorpe Colleges. I have attended several one-day pastel workshops and also a three-day pastel workshop at Pendrell Hall.
I have taken watercolour courses at Countesthorpe College, Loughborough University and the Richard Attenborough Centre.
I now paint regularly with a group of friends, sharing ideas, experimenting and challenging ourselves with new projects. We hold our own exhibitions as well as exhibiting locally around Leicestershire.
I have been a member of The Leicester Sketch Club for about eight years.
I enjoy working in all media, especially graphite and charcoal. I find all creative work exciting, including textiles.
