Barbara was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where her mother grew up and her father was teaching Art, after training at the Slade School in the 1930’s. He was a major influence in Barbara's early years, encouraging her to paint and draw.
Barbara studied Art at Kingston, the South Australian, Canterbury and Winchester Colleges of Art over 5 years and then teacher training at the University of Reading. Drawing has always been her first love and for Barbara the pastel medium combines perfectly painting and the directness of drawing. Barbara works in most media and likes to experiment with combining methods.
Barbara have shown her work widely in the East Midlands, exhibiting with the Leicester Society of Artists, The Sketch Club and the Leicestershire Pastel Society.
