Mary Austin
Mary studied at Loughborough in the late 1950’s; from there she spent a year in Venezuela and on her return continued with her studies. She has exhibited in America and Ireland as well as in the UK. Mary has only recently come to use pastels as a means of expression within her work. In her experiments with the medium she quickly discovered the variety of techniques that are available. In some of her work she uses an underpainting of gouache or watercolour. Mary also finds oil pastels create exciting images in a completely different way. She is also a member of Artspace in Loughborough. Last updated 13 August 2008 |
