Rialto at Night

Venice Square

Approaching his paintings like a researcher, Tim works with the heart of a purist and the mind of a realist. Wherever possible, he collects his own reference material by observations, field sketches, notes and taking photographs. His work is a composite of all this plus a remarkable use of light and colour to produce intriguing and inviting images. The art process can take weeks, months and sometimes even years before he is truly satisfied with the results. If he is ever in doubt about a subject or the complementing components, he knows he can turn to fellow artists or knowledgeable trusted friends for the give and take of a good critique.

Tim, who is the official demonstrator for Sennelier Pastels, is available for talks, demonstrations and workshops for groups. He also runs regular painting holidays in Europe.

Tim is also internationally known for his Fisher 400 pastel paper and range of instructional pastel and watercolour DVDs. Tim is in the process of producing a series of instructional art DVD's filmed on location in the Yorkshire area. The first one will be working pastel with ink and other media.

Tim has been commissioned to produce a 6 month series for the Leisure Painter on acrylic painting techniques starting November 2010.
